(2) recurrent training program in accordance with the personnel licensing standards within the 24 months preceding the flight
(3) To carry passengers - within the six months preceding the flight:
(A) five night or day take-offs and five night or day landings, if the flight is conducted wholly by day, or
(B) five night take-offs and five night landings, if the flight is conducted wholly or partly by night
The rating is valid for 24 months after you get your IFR and expires on the first day of the 25th month following the anniversary month in which the flight test was conducted. After this initial exam you have to complete an instrument rating flight test every 12 months to keep the IFR rating
