Why this site?

I started this website with the sole intent of compiling random scribbling that I jot down during flying. As many of you brave folks have expressed an interest in flying with me, the website has evolved to include a status of my journey towards licensing and ongoing training (when you stop learning in aviation; it is time to stop flying all together!).

January, 2007 - Commercial Pilot License Issued
October, 2006 - All Commercial Pilot Requirements Complete
April 16, 2006 - Commercial Pilot License Practical Test complete!!
(however, I still need to fly 20 hours more to send in the paperwork)
March 12, 2006 - Commercial Written Exam complete - 88%

March 4, 2006 - pre-commercial written exam for recommendation letter complete
February 12, 2006 - 300 nautical mile solo cross country complete
(Toronto, Kingston, Montreal, Trois Rivere and back!)
January, Medical Category 1 complete
September 5, 2005 -- Night Rating Complete
August 19, 2005 -- milestone: logged 100 hours of flight time!
April 17, 2005 -- Private Pilot License complete
What it took....
- Just under 50 hours of flight training
- 20 pilot-in-command solo hours (i.e. flying alone)
- 45 hours ground school
- 30 hours pre or post flight briefing
- Student pilot licence
- Student pilot exam
- Pre-Transport Canada Written Test
- Transport Canada Written Test
- Medical clearance
- Aeronautical Radio Operators License
- Transport Canada flight test (oral and practical)

- Many many many late nights studying (there wasn't a weekend I slept past 6 AM so that I could prepare for and flight train)
- Cold wintery days doing flight training, straight through the winter
